DogRoute 109 follows official U.S. announcements that matter to dog owners and explains them in plain English: what changed, who it affects, and what to do next.
What we cover
- Recalls & Alerts — pet food and treat recalls, and disease or safety alerts from agencies such as the FDA, CDC and USDA.
- Rule Changes — new or changed federal and state rules, airline pet policies and national park rules.
- Dog Events — dog-friendly events and adoption days announced by city parks departments and public shelters.
- Travel Guides — occasional guides to traveling with your dog, built from official park and agency rules.
Our earlier how-to guides on training, behavior, health and costs live in the Library.
How we work
- Official sources first. Every news post starts from a federal, state or city source, and we link to it at the end of the post.
- Dated and checked. Each post says when we last checked the source. Rules change, so always confirm with the agency before you travel or act.
- Facts, not advice. We explain what an agency announced. We do not give veterinary or legal advice. For your own dog, talk to your veterinarian.
- Our own words. We summarize in our own words and do not copy agency photos.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an outdated rule, please tell us on the contact page. We fix confirmed errors and note the update date in the post.
Who we are
DogRoute 109 is an independent site run by a small team of dog owners. It is not affiliated with any government agency. The same team makes Majesty’s Dog Butlers, a free just-for-fun web app.
